Acupuncture has been growing in popularity in the west since President Nixon visited China in 1972. Since that time it has proven to be a medicine which is safe and effective for treating a wide range of conditions. The W.H.O (World Health Organisation) now cites over 100 conditions that can be treated with acupuncture.
Extensive clinical studies have proved the effectiveness of acupuncture as a therapeutic treatment. The largest study to date, which was conducted on over 18000 patients proved the effectiveness of acupuncture for treating headache, back pain and arthritis. The results were published in this 2012 Bloomberg article.
Acupuncture treats the whole individual, rather than just the symptoms of a disease, and can correct the underlying imbalance causing a condition.
